What To Do If You Have an Eye Emergency

First things first. Don’t panic! Staying calm is the best way to help you think straight and help those around you to remain calm. Often, it’s not necessary to go to an emergency room for eye emergencies. In fact, the vast majority of people who go to the emergency room for eye care could have received treatment from their local optometrist instead.

If you’re unsure whether you’re experiencing an eye emergency, give us a call immediately! Delay may increase the risk of serious complications and may result in vision loss.

Until you see your eye doctor or seek urgent care, avoid the following:

  • Don’t try to remove an embedded object out of your eye
  • If your eye is injured, don’t press on it or rub it
  • Dry cotton and sharp instruments such as tweezers should never be used on the eye.

Whether you’ve had a workplace accident or an at-home incident, our eye doctors are here to help

This was my first visit with Dr. Samala Khan and I had an amazing experience. The office staff was v... ery friendly with getting me setup before the doctor came. When running through my annual exam and updating my prescription Dr. Khan was very thorough and kind. She was continuously checking in on how my new prescription felt and even had me walk around to make sure they weren't too strong since she wanted to try a new stronger prescription. After the appointment Stephanie Figueroa helped me with check out and helped me get the most of my insurance so I only paid for the co-pay. She explained that my past eye doctor's were not billing my insurance correctly so I was pay a lot more for my exam and my contacts. I'm so grateful to have found this office and highly recommend for anyone looking for a new eye doctor's office! Also there was a LQBTQIA+ pride flag on the welcome desk showing this is a safe space which I really appreciated ❤️

My appointment started on time and we moved along with my testing very nicely. The doctor and staff... were all professional the office and equipment there was very clean. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable which made my experience the very best. I have been a patient for years now and I would recommend them to all my family friends and colleagues. Thanks, Wayne Lashley
